4-H craft program begins on Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN — Local students can learn how to make simple crafts from around the world and compete in the 2022 4-H Children’s Art Exchange with youth from the People’s Republic of China. They will learn how art can tell stories and explore and experiment with 2- and 3-dimensional art.

Youth will create “visual letters” art to send to children of similar ages in China. A “visual letter” is just like a written letter in that both can tell stories and share important ideas and feelings.

Participants will be awarded a certificate granted through 4-H Michigan State University Extension and the Shandong Province in China.

The sessions are for children in third through sixth grades. They will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday, March 8 to March 25, at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Enrollment in 4-H is free. Spin Clubs run for six sessions.

To register, select Spin Club: Crafts from Around the World at https://v2.4honline.com. For questions, contact Elizabeth Alderman at alderm21@msu.edu.

Starting at $3.50/week.
