Marquette AMBUCS to host Family Field Day Saturday

MARQUETTE — Marquette’s chapter of ABUMCS will host a Family Field Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Eastern time Saturday at the MARESA office on Ohio Street in Marquette.

The event is free and will feature a variety of outdoor activities designed for people of all abilities.

During Family Fun Day, Marquette AMBUCS will celebrate all that they have accomplished over the past few years in the Upper Peninsula. Activities on offer during the event will include bag toss, bowling, parachute, and more. A calming room will also be available. A group bicycle/tricycle parade will take place from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Eastern time in the parking lot, where participants are encouraged to bring their own Amtryke, tricycle, bicycle or other recreational equipment to participate.

ABUMCS is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with mobility challenges with the goal of creating independent mobility for all. Its mission is to empower people to conquer challenges related to mobility and independence through a local community network, by providing recreational opportunities and adaptive equipment, including AmTryke Adaptive Tricycles and other forms of community service

Event partners are BayCliff Health Camp, MARESA, Special Olympics, SAIL and Project Jade.
