Dickinson reports 10 new virus cases; Iron County, 9

Local health officials Monday reported 10 new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County and nine more cases in Iron County.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department on Monday also listed 66 people considered recovered from the virus in Dickinson County and 14 new recoveries in Iron County.

The DIDHD on Monday had Dickinson County at 2,050 confirmed positives and 205 probable cases, with 1,919 recovered, 67 deaths and 269 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD showed 796 confirmed cases and 75 probables, with 740 recovered, 34 deaths and 97 still active.

Across the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus data site Monday added 74 confirmed positives since Saturday: 21 in Houghton County; 17 in Marquette County; eight in Gogebic County; seven in Iron County; six in Delta County; five in Chippewa County; three each in Dickinson, Menominee and Schoolcraft counties; and one in Alger County.

In total for the U.P., the data site Monday listed Keweenaw County at 83 confirmed cases and 16 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 127 confirmed cases and 69 probable; Alger County, 211 confirmed, 137 probable and one death, two probable; Schoolcraft County, 223 confirmed cases and 21 probable, three deaths and one probable; Mackinac County, 269 confirmed cases and 128 probable, three deaths; Ontonagon County, 282 confirmed, 30 probable and 15 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 476 confirmed cases, 88 probable and 29 deaths; Chippewa County, 652 confirmed cases and 945 probable, and 13 deaths, two probable; Gogebic County, 745 confirmed cases and 302 probable, 16 confirmed deaths and 23 probable; Iron County, 799 confirmed cases and 68 probable, 32 confirmed deaths and five probable; Menominee County, 1,533 confirmed cases, 236 probable and 30 deaths, two probable; Houghton County, 1,755 confirmed cases, 439 probable, 27 confirmed deaths and seven probable; Dickinson County, 2,048 confirmed cases and 203 probable, 56 confirmed deaths and 14 probable; Delta County, 2,550 confirmed cases and 427 probable, 60 confirmed deaths and 18 probable; and Marquette County, 3,270 confirmed cases, 450 probable and 51 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Monday has had 15,023 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 337 deaths.

The MDHHS on Monday reported 4,536 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in Michigan for the two-day period since Saturday for a total of 523,618. The state added 47 new deaths since Saturday to reach 13,401.

For Wisconsin counties in the region, the state’s COVID-19 data site Monday showed 20 new confirmed positives in Vilas County, 15 in Marinette County, two in Forest County and one in Florence County. The state added a virus-related death in Vilas County.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Monday had Marinette County with 3,697 confirmed cases, 347 probable cases and 51 deaths; Vilas County, 1,738 confirmed, 77 probable and 28 deaths, two probable deaths; Forest County, 888 confirmed, 63 probable and 22 deaths, three probable; Iron County, 434 confirmed, 110 probable and 18 deaths, 17 probable; and Florence County, 409 confirmed, 26 probable and 12 deaths. As in Michigan, state numbers are updated daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

Wisconsin added 1,456 new positives Monday for a total of 508,346 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The state recorded five deaths Monday to reach 5,162.
