IRON MOUNTAIN — Carol Bronzyk has been tapped as the next Dickinson County clerk and register of deeds.

She succeeds Dolly Cook, who retired Sunday after 31 years in office. Bronzyk was administered the oath of office Monday.

Bronzyk was selected by the two Circuit Court judges, Mary Barglind and Christopher Ninomiya, as outlined by state law from among many qualified applicants, according to a news release.

Bronzyk has been Dickinson County’s deputy clerk and circuit court clerk for the past 18 years after two years as a sheriff’s department dispatcher.

Bronzyk lives in Quinnesec with her husband, Mike, and their mini-goldendoodle, Bentley. She has three adult daughters — Kristin, Randi and April — and a stepson, Nick; and five granddaughters.

“I am so honored to be given this opportunity. I have been fortunate to work alongside Dolly for the last 18 years, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience,” Bronzyk said. “I also have an incredible staff to help me with this transition.”

She added, “I would like to thank the circuit court judges, Dolly Cook, my wonderful family, friends and colleagues for their amazing support. I look forward to serving the residents of Dickinson County as the new county clerk.”
