The Kingsford Centennial Committee will have its first organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, in the second-floor council chambers at Kingsford City Hall. A committee spokesperson said the event is expected to be bigger than the Diamond Jubilee in 1998 that attracted more than 10,000 people. A number of the original committee members now want to be involved in planning the centennial event, but more volunteers will be needed to help organize and conduct the activities. Those interested are asked to attend the July 20 meeting.
