Four newspapers in the Upper Peninsula will start an exciting new feature today — a weekly weather package from none other than meteorologist Karl Bohnak.

Known informally as the “Upper Peninsula Weatherman” for his decades of work on Marquette television, “Karl’s Korner” will include a five-day forecast and weather message from Bohnak.

“This column is a great opportunity for me, since I like writing. It will give me a chance to reach another segment of our U.P. population,” Bohnak said. “The column will include some historical tidbits and a look ahead to the coming week.”

The feature will run on Fridays in The Daily News, The Mining Journal, Escanaba’s Daily Press and The Daily Mining Gazette in Houghton. Today’s forecast can be seen on page 2-A.
