KINGSFORD — The Health Occupations and Medical Terminology students at the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District Tech Center participated in Michigan Regional Health Occupation Students of America, or HOSA, event.

Student members of HOSA competed in a health-related topic of their own interest as an individual or in a group Dec. 9-10 against 15 Michigan schools. Although Michigan HOSA was held virtually this year, the students worked hard in preparation for their events and showed great leadership skills. Overall, 39 students qualified for states and 17 received medals: four for first place, eight for second place, and five for third place within their specific events.

Michigan HOSA’s state competition is scheduled to be an in-person event Thursday and Friday in Traverse City.
