Charity ATV poker run set for June 1 in Florence

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Mine Shaft Bar and Grill in Florence, along with Thermal Chaos of Dunbar, Wis., will host a Charity ATV Poker Run on Saturday, June 1.

Proceeds will benefit “Butler vs Bullying,” an anti-bullying campaign started by NFL Hall of Famer and Packers legend Leroy Butler.

Blaze a Trail for Butler vs Bullying will begin and end at The Mine Shaft Bar and Grill, located at 4080 U.S. 2, Camping in the Clouds Campground.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ride begins at 10 a.m.

Butler will be making an appearance and signing autographs from 5 to 7 p.m.

As a recipient of bullying growing up, Butler’s approach is to be a part of the solution by bringing awareness to the problem of bullying.

“Butler vs Bullying” is a program that provides a place for kids to feel free to open up about the problem and be a leader in helping to solve the issue.

The program was presented at Florence schools in 2022.

“This problem cannot be ignored any longer,” Butler said.

The events of the day end with music by the rock band Bad Mother Truckers from 7 to 11 p.m.
