NORWAY — Registering three players in double figures, led by Ashton Hord with a game-high 15 points, North Dickinson extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 53-26 victory Friday night in Skyline Central Conference girls basketball action.

Brianna Smith netted 11 points and Chrislyn Inglese added 10 points for the now 10-1 Nordics.

“I thought the girls played really hard tonight, and we limited our team turnovers to seven for the whole game,” said Nordics head coach Kirk Mattson. “That was something we’ve been focusing on as a team.”

Kassie Gyselinck’s 13 points led the Lady Knights on the evening, who struggled offensively after the first quarter.

“North Dickinson is as balanced of a team as you can find. They play impressive team basketball and they are just getting better as the season continues,” said Norway head coach Joe Tinti.

Mattson also noted that his girls played great team basketball against the Knights.

“Chrislyn (Inglese) made some nice shots for us tonight,” he said. “Micah Lindholm played well for her first game on varsity as a freshman. She played with confidence and was ready for her first opportunity.”

The Nordics host Kingsford Tuesday, and will attempt to avenge their only loss, which was their first game of the season at Kingsford.

Norway (1-12) never quit at any point in the game, noted Tinti.

The Knights travel to West Iron on Tuesday.

Norway won the JV contest. Coach Kevin Kangas’ team improves to 13-0 on the season.
