Patriots survive in final seconds
GOODMAN, Wis. — Despite leading by 10 points at the half, Goodman-Pembine needed a Boone Larison three-pointer with two seconds left to defeat Mercer 56-55 in non-conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.
“We left many scoring opportunities out there tonight but we are happy to get the win and push our record to 4-2 on the year,” said G-P head coach Jeff Zerbst.
G-P led 27-17 at halftime but got outscored 38-29 in the second half.
Jacob Schmidt of Mercer led all scorers with 21 points, while Larison canned 20 for the Patriots.
“We will clean a few things up in practice and get ready to host Three Lakes on Thursday night in Pembine for a Northern Lakes conference game,” Zerbst said.
