Prep hoops poll largely unchanged

IRONWOOD — The third Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters high school basketball poll of the season has been released.

The four No. 1 teams were all selected unanimously by the seven-voter panel, and they remain the same as last week’s poll. Division 1-3 boys is Iron Mountain; Division 1-3 girls is Menominee. Division 4 boys is Dollar Bay and Division 4 girls is St. Ignace.

In the Division 1-3 boys poll, No. 2-4 remain the same behind the undefeated Mountaineers. Munising moved out of the top five and Westwood re-entered.

Division 4 boys saw Pickford and Ewen-Trout Creek switch spots from last week, with Pickford at No. 3 and ETC at No. 4. North Central dropped out of this week’s top five.

The Division 1-3 girls poll has one change with West Iron County falling out of the poll, with its No. 4 spot taken by Marquette.

In Division 4, the five teams remained the same, with Baraga and Pickford tied at the No. 3 spot.
