STEVENS POINT, Wis — A few area officials were recognized by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association after the 2019-20 school year was completed in Wisconsin. They were recognized for consecutive years of service as a registered WIAA official.

George Pond- Iron Mountain, 30 years

Nick Gayan- Kingsford, 20 years

John Meyer- Iron Mountain, 20 years

Bob Boyle- Iron Mountain, 10 years

John Benzie- Iron Mountain,10 years

Thomas Courchaine- Crystal Falls, 10 years

Another WIAA 20-year recognition was given to umpire Sam Fontecchio of Ironwood. He has umpired many MHSAA district baseball and softball games in the area over the past decade or so.
