NORWAY TOWNSHIP — The annual Fred Flink Best Ball golf tournament took place Aug. 8 and 9 at Oak Crest Golf Club in Norway. The tournament is named after the retired long-time golf pro at the public course.

Current Oak Crest Director of Golf and Operations Kevin Londo reports that the tournament was full, with 70 teams competing. London noted that there were also 70 teams in the 2019 Flink tournament.

On Sunday, the championship flight of eight teams, came down to a one-hole playoff on hole No. 1 to determine the championship. Randy and Jon Ellis were tied with a 12-under 132 with Mark Clements and Jim Markell.

Clements drove the green and sank an eagle putt from six feet. The Ellis’s conceded victory to Clements and Markell after the putt, Londo noted.
