NLC names top volleyball standouts

CRANDON, Wis. — The Northern Lakes Conference announced its volleyball all-conference selections Saturday. A trio of Florence players and two Goodman-Pembine players were named to the all-conference teams.

Seniors Sidney Tomczak of Florence and Katelyn Nelson of Goodman-Pembine were first team selections. Fellow senior Sierra Dettman of Goodman-Pembine was named to the second team.

Florence senior Lacey Enders and sophomore Morgan Tomczak were named as honorable mentions.

NLC co-players of the year Elizabeth Krawze of Laona-Wabeno and Mollee Gruszynski of conference champion Three Lakes, were the lone unanimous selections to the first team. Maddie Stamper of Crandon and Kara Sowinski rounded out the first team selections.

Macie Palubicki of Crandon, Ellie Asbach of Elcho, Kylie Higgins of Laona-Wabeno, along with Emily Fink and Mari Szews, both of Three Lakes, joined Dettman on the second team.

The coach of the year award went to Jayme Wyss of Three Lakes.
