KINGSFORD — The Kingsford Flivvers tennis team defeated Gladstone 5-3 Thursday afternoon in a Great Northern Conference match at the KHS tennis facility.

At No. 1 doubles Caleb Boone and Christina Glodowski defeated Gladstone’s Carter Hedman and Sean Sailer (6-1, 6-4).

“We continue to play better each match,” said first-year Kingsford head coach Mark Novara. “Caleb Boone and Kristi Glodowski had a great day to remain undefeated.”

Isaac Nash and Ben Trevillian swept Chad Britton and Dragan Graham, 6-0 in both sets in No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Rane Castor defeated Gabe LaFrenire at No. 1 (1-6, 7-6, 7-5), while Peter Noblet downed Niko Przoslakowski at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2) to earn the two Gladstone wins.

“I am very proud how Rane did not give up,” said Braves coach Ryan Barron. “All it took was one great shot, and he fed off that confidence and won five straight games to close it out.”
