The circus in politics today

The light just came on as to why they use an elephant to represent the Republican Party and a jackass for the Democrat Party. There was a line in the Dr. Seuss book, “Horton Hatches the Egg,” that stated, “I said what I meant, and I meant what I said, an elephant’s faithful one hundred percent!” But now I’m beginning to wonder if that’s true, as a new element has been added to the circus, better known as Washington D.C., in the form of a Rino, or Republican in name only. TRICO should get undeliverable mail

EDITOR: Made another trip over to TRICO to get rid of my newspapers and cardboard that I have accumulated the last couple of weeks. In the May 18th Letters, Pete Rossato from TRICO wrote about the problems they have in getting the undeliverable mail from the U.S. Postal Service in Kingsford that is right next door. This mail is shipped downstate to be disposed of. Another wasted dollar spent when all they have to do is call TRICO, they will even pick up! Blame game in Texas shooting

Yes, the shooting in the Texas school was horrific and I don’t think there is one American who is not saddened by it. But I see the great American curse playing out — placing blame. This time it is on the cops. I firmly believe that the cops acted in the best manner that they did with the information available at the time. Hindsight may reveal that wasn’t necessarily the case, but we have to trust that the cops did the best they knew what to do at the time. Let’s not fall into the great American trap. Another venue to consider

In case of rain on Memorial Day would it be a good idea to hold the program indoors? When the Kingsford Armory was built, we taxpayers were told school programs, community fundraisers and sports to name a few could be held at the armory at no charge. Could the Memorial Day programs be held at the armory in spite of the rise in pandemic cases? Parking is ample and the location right. On May 18, Bergman voted against U.S. House Resolution 1124, which provided for consideration of H.R. 350, Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act; H.R. 7688, Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act; and H.R.7790, Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriation Act. EDITOR: Good day to those who have bought this newspaper. I don’t know why you personally buy and read the newspaper, but I do encourage you to go a step further and encourage your friends and family to do the same. You might maybe pass along your copy for a short time while enticing them to buy their own subscription. I moved to this area 17 years ago from the Green Bay area, so my wife and I also receive a limited subscription to the Green Bay newspaper.
