Hospital scenario not good if risking severe COVID

EDITOR: As October begins, I have to reminisce about an October 32 years ago. On Oct. 4, I entered St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., for a surgery the next day. There was a very good chance that I had esophageal cancer, but going in the doctors were still not positive. There was no MRI at that time, it was just being built between Bellin and St. Vincent hospitals and was not online so with just “scopes” and CT scan available, they had to make an educated guess with the end result depending on what they found when they did the surgery. EDITOR: It was a well-attended meeting for the U.P. Patriots, featuring the guest speaker, former WLUC-TV6 meteorologist Karl Bohnak. Mr. Bohnak did a great job of increasing the enthusiasm of the already energized crowd. Much of his speech was about losing his job for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccination. EDITOR: I will concede that President Donald Trump exaggerated and even lied at times. My liberal friends argued that he should have been impeached, replaced or had resigned over these nebulous statements. President Biden lied directly to the American people during an ABC interview when George Stephanopoulos asked, “…your top military advisors warned against withdrawing on this timeline. Taking issue with wolf ‘hunt’

The wolves like anything must be well managed but not killed off. The American Indian tribes are Americans and have rights that should be respected, also. To kill off wolves by use of high-powered rifles and shotguns from helicopters and planes is slaughtering. Years ago, there was a motion picture of this type of killing. It showed the blood pouring out of all the pellet and bullet holes in the side of the wolves running across a snow-covered opening until they fell over dead. Disturbing trend in behavior at recent area fairs

EDITOR: When did we become so mean? When did we lose the idea of being our neighbors’ keepers? When did we teach our children it is OK to be rude and disrespectful to anyone who doesn’t look or think as we do? Are we losing our humanity? I ask this after working a shift this past weekend at the fair. While sitting in the Democratic Party booth at the Dickinson County Fair, I witnessed some rather poor behavior, as did my colleagues over a five-day period.
