Golden K cancels special needs Christmas party

KINGSFORD — The Golden K was canceled this week due to weather conditions.

The club has a policy that coincides with the schools — if they close because of weather conditions, the Golden K does not meet.

Due to the rise in COVID positive cases, several schools have had to cancel participation in the special needs Christmas party that was scheduled for Monday. The party will be canceled for this year.

Golden K members will still meet Monday and will prepare gift bags for the participating schools. The gift bags will be delivered at a later date.

The Golden K members Christmas party will still take place at 5 p.m. Monday at Recreation Lanes in Iron Mountain.

The Dec. 20 Golden K meeting will have guest speaker First Lt. Jeremy Hauswirth, commander of the Michigan State Police posts in Iron Mountain and Iron River. All are welcome to any meeting, with the designated program to begin at 10:30 a.m. The Golden K meets every Monday at the First Presbyterian Church on Hamilton Avenue in Kingsford.

Starting at $3.50/week.
