Stamp club meets on Aug. 20

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 in the fellowship room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Florence County Historical Society to have quilt raffle

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence County Historical Society is having a raffle for a quilt expertly made and donated by Joan Spears and long-armed stitched by Patti Wabitsch. Other prizes include a handmade Amish-style rug, quilted carryall bag, engraved cutting board, wooden hanging planter, bird house, hummingbird feeder and engraved insulated cups, all made and donated by local crafters. CRYSTAL FALLS — Troy Graham will lead an Imaginative Poetry Writing Workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Crystal Falls Community District Library. All are invited to the free workshop. Legion Post 145 in Norway to host breakfast Sunday

NORWAY — American Legion Post 145 will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the post. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hashbrown potatoes, toast, coffee, milk, juice and fruit salad.
