KINGSFORD — A free Emergency Preparedness Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb., 5, at the Kingsford Middle School Gym, 445 Hamilton Ave.

Sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the event will include children’s activities and interactive booths.

Learn about preparing your vehicle for an emergency, citizen band radios and ham radios, budget planning, food canning and storage, water storage and well maintenance, fire prevention and smoke detectors, emergency backpacks, basic first aid and alternative cooking.

There will be tips on keeping children entertained during power outages and preparing yourself spiritually for emergencies.

The door prize is a two-person emergency kit equipped with 72 hours of basic supplies.
