ESCANABA — The two people killed in a Thanksgiving night traffic crash in Escanaba were residents of the area, authorities said.

The deceased, both of Escanaba, are 61-year-old Tony Hurkmans and 60-year-old Kelly Piquette, Escanaba Public Safety Department stated Monday.

Seven others were injured in the three-vehicle crash, and four reportedly remained hospitalized Monday — two in Marquette and two in Green Bay, Wis.

Investigation continues into the crash, which was reported at 5:49 p.m. Eastern time Thursday on the 1600 block of North Lincoln Road. Traffic was rerouted for nearly four hours as Michigan State Police reconstructed the accident site.
