STAMBAUGH — With four players scoring in double figures, led by Nathan Thomson and Peyton Williams with 21 each, West Iron rolled past Hancock Friday night 92-39 at the Charles Greenlund Gymnasium in West PAC Conference action.

Junior center Justin Nelson added 15 points, while Elijah Turbessi chipped in 11 points for the Wykons, who improve to 10-8 on the season.

“We shot the ball really well tonight, and our effort was great,” said Wykons head coach Dan Schive. “It was our winter homecoming and the kids were excited to play.”

It was also the final home and West PAC games of the season for West Iron. They travel to Ishpeming on Tuesday and Gwinn on Thursday to finish their regular season.

Hancock, slipping to 1-17 on the season, was led by freshman Vanden Jacques with 13 points.

“Hancock is a very young team and they’ll be better in a couple of years,” said Schive.

The Bulldogs make the short trip to Lake Linden-Hubbell on Tuesday night.
