Wykons knock down Copper Kings, 56-39
STAMBAUGH — Behind a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds from junior center Justin Nelson, along with 16 points from Peyton Williams, West Iron County defeated Calumet 56-39 in West PAC Conference action.
“It was good to play 48 hours after our last game, because it helped us get the bad taste out of our mouth,” said Wykons head coach Dan Schive. “I liked the pace of play that we had tonight, and our defensive effort was much better.”
West Iron improves to 8-5 with the win, in what was a makeup game from Jan. 16. The Wykons remain home to host Kingsford on Tuesday in non-conference action. Calumet won the JV game.
