U.P. Hardball Classic invades LiUNA Field Labor Day weekend

IRON MOUNTAIN — For the third year, there will be Labor Day weekend baseball held at LiUNA Field in Iron Mountain. The U.P. Hardball Classic will take place Saturday through Monday, Sept. 5-7, with a total of 11 games to be played over the three-day tournament.

Seven teams entered the field: Menomonee Falls, Wis. Iron Mountain-Kingsford-Norway, Greenville, Wis., Kenosha (Wis.) King, “The Bar” Appleton, Wis., Delta County and defending champion Fox Cities.

The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, with games scheduled every two hours, with the last game starting at 4 p.m.

Sunday has the same schedule, with three games being played on championship Monday — 10 a.m., 12 p.m. for the semifinal games, and the championship game will be held at 2 p.m.
