EDITOR: The world right now is in a crisis. The coronavirus is the cause, but we can lessen the damage that it causes. Instead of blaming governors for trying to keep you safe, thank them. I understand that some of the things they are doing seem extreme, but they are not. Look at China after they restricted people. They are now over the hurdle or at least have a much-improved situation. They have no new cases of it. This is real. The weakness of identity politics

When did the left start crying “racist”? To our credit and benefit, we have a diverse society of all different races. Each of them unique and important to God and our national heritage. Minorities are vulnerable to manipulators looking for votes … an opportunity for unscrupulous politicians who use identity politics in their attempt at a power grab. Need to take virus seriously

In reference to COVID-19, I see a lot of online posts making light or fun of the situation, mostly by those who are in the age or health group least affected. Yes, some of it is funny, like the run on toilet paper, but some responses have been “No big deal, I don’t believe it, I don’t care, people are acting stupid, the media is overreacting.” Posts that are dismissive of any possible threat and toward those who could be negatively affected by that threat. The swamp in Washington DC

Here is a fact — there is a “swamp” in Washington D.C.! But it is made up of not just Democrats, it is made up of all of them, both political parties. I would say 98 percent are corrupt; that leaves room for a few honest ones. Everything is about “the party.” And again, that goes for both of them. It is all about power, who controls. Take better care of the Earth

I want to thank anyone who served in the military or in any other way in our country or throughout the world! Anyone who helps people in need are special. All of us on Earth are special in our own way. Just remember, do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Also, all of us need to start taking better care of the Earth. All the pollution we are doing is having an effect on our health. League always non-partisan

I am always pleased to see the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin’s Advocacy highlighted around the state in print and other media. I am writing with a clarification to your paper’s mention of the League. In the article you picked up from AP’s Scott Bauer, Mr. Bauer incorrectly asserted the League was on the same side as the Democrats on voter access issues. I must point out that the League is in fact a non-partisan organization and has been for 100 years. We neither support nor oppose candidates or parties.
