Early hole dooms Iron Mountain at Manistique
MANISTIQUE — Iron Mountain fell behind early and dropped a 53-38 decision to Manistique in Mid- Peninsula Conference girls basketball Thursday.
Emilee McDaniel scored 14 points to pace the Emeralds, who led 30-9 at halftime.
“Overall we struggled to put the ball in the basket all night,” said Iron Mountain coach Katelynn Grenier. “We were getting looks but struggled to finish.”
The Mountaineers were led by Tori Sorenson with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Claire Mongrain added 12 points and five steals.
“We are adjusting to not having Reagan Lundholm on the floor with us and have big scoring shoes to fill,” said Johnson. “We will keep adjusting and push forward to the next game.”
Iron Mountain (1-13) hosts Westwood on Tuesday for a dual conference West PAC and Mid-Peninsula game.
The Mountaineers JV squad defeated Manistique 41-25, led by Emma Ellis with 12 points.
