Johnson dials up 30 as IM crushes Wykons

STAMBAUGH — Marcus Johnson hit six triples and netted 30 points and Foster Wonders canned 27, as Iron Mountain tackled West Iron County 84-24 in West PAC boys basketball Tuesday.

The U.P.S.S.A No. 1-ranked Mountaineers improved to 12-0 (7-0 West PAC) with the win.

“We got off to a good start, and everyone played well tonight,” said Iron Mountain head coach Harvey “Bucky” Johnson.

The Mountaineers had 18 steals in the contest, while recording 15 assists as a team.

The Wykons (7-5, 4-3) were led in scoring by junior center Justin Nelson with seven points.

WIC is off until Tuesday, Feb. 11 when they welcome non-conference foe, Kingsford.

The Mountaineers return home to host dual conference opponent Ishpeming in West PAC and Mid Peninsula conference action on Friday night.
