HERMANSVILLE — Tyler Price scored 25 points to lead Kakuk Construction of Daggett to a 69-58 win over Marinette Dubey Park on opening night of adult competition in the 82nd Gold Medal Classic independent basketball tournament at the Meyer Township Community Club in Hermansville.

Jordan Miller’s 20 points led Dubey Park in the Class C contest. Matt Wagner added 19 for Kakuk.

In Class E games Wednesday:

— Powers Premium Mulch downed Norway Thirsty Whale, 59-52. Griffin Johnson led PM with 18 points while Jaden Janke and Ashton Janke scored 17 apiece. Logan Parolini led the Whale with 10.

— Hermansville Wendricks Truss defeated Hermansville Stewart Manufacturing, 65-57. Lucas Dombroski paced the winners with 17 points, while Tyler Beauchamp scored 29 for Stewart.

— Daggett Church Ballers got 20 points from Max Baumler and took out Escanaba Country Roads Furniture, 62-39. Carter Eichmeier’s 22 points led Country Roads.
