Road work begins at Marion Lake
IRONWOOD — The Ottawa National Forest is conducting maintenance work on Forest Road 3985 — also known as Marion Lake Campground Road — just east of Watersmeet.
Marion Lake is a popular destination for campers, fishermen and outdoorsmen. This 317-acre lake features two separate boat ramps, 39 single camp sites and one group camp site.
Work will continue in the area through October and the road to the campground will close beginning Monday. The first boat launch will remain open for use during the construction period. Traffic controls and signage will be established to ensure worker and public safety.
The public is reminded to obey all directional signage and to watch for large equipment moving to and from the construction site.
